Komedia Brighton

A Socially Distanced Summer Programme

Komedia is Brighton’s premier live entertainment venue presenting one of the largest, most diverse arts and entertainment programmes in the UK. After a year of closure, Komedia came back blazing with a six-week-long socially distanced programme of comedy, music, and kids shows. Our case study takes you through the reopening journey of Komedia Brighton and how their team are working around the challenges of social distancing and reduced capacities.

Sharing Insights and the Experiences of Komedia

Whilst social distancing restrictions are in place, the team at Komedia needed to get creative and become more strategic than ever. The first steps taken by the team at Komedia were to strip everything back and start with the bare bones. Their starting focus was to understand the needs of each department individually and to create a methodological structure. They began looking at the booking process, to negotiations with artists, right through to putting a show on sale. This case study takes you through the challenges facing their venue and the new learnings for their team.
